Here in this place we have very little community. Most of our community is outside the area. And so much of our community is centered around the internet. This can be a blessing and a curse. The dark side- isolation can be horrid to one's self. And spending too much time on any electrical device can be utterly consuming. But it can also bring you closer to those you wouldn't normally be able to associate. Can introduce you to new people, and give you perspective you wouldn't normally see.
You here are part of my community.
I know I have followers, some old, some new, some friends for years, others I've made because of blog pages. And those that read and I never know about. I write about me. And then I wonder about You. Who's reading my blog? Why? Do they have families? Favorite foods? I want to know my readers.

I don't think you sound corny at all. I feel like I could have written much of this post myself...sounds like we are in similar situations in terms of living in isolation! I'm happy to be a part of your community, and you a part of mine.
