Joining Ginny at Small Things for today's Yarn Along.
I've made loads of progress on my first sweater. The back, and left front are off the needles. And the right front is on. I should be working on the sleeves by the weekend. Last Friday, I found 6 more skeins of the matching yarn, I thought I might need 8, so I grabbed up all they had. Now farther into knitting, I see the 6 may be just enough. Here's hoping! (And if by chance I do have leftovers, I may knit up a matching hat, or dress for A's doll.)
For some reason it didn't occur to me, until I was looking forward at the pattern, that I'll be able to adjust the sleeve length to accommodate A's arm. I think by shortening the right by 2 inches should make it not have to be rolled up or hang over her wrist. This is exciting! Tailored clothes just for A.
(For those visiting, A was born without her right hand, affected by ABS, amniotic band syndrome.)
As for reading, I'm reading Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl to the children. We're only 3 chapters in, finding time to sit and read to them, when the weather is so nice, is proving difficult. A trip to the library, had me looking for books for the kids, but like usual, I forgot to find one for myself.
What are you knitting? Reading?
(Little A in the pic, loving on her future sweater. I think she's telling me "I want it done now!".)
Perfect girl colors... yes, a custom knit should be well received. :)
