Joining in on the Natural Parenting Blog Party!

So I'm jumping in on the Natural Parenting Blog Party! Ya hoo! Go on over to The Peaceful Housewife to grab the button and questions and join us! This will be Fun! (I'm so excited....it's stupid!) I also want to link ya over to the mama's blog I got this from...I'm a new follower and lover of her blog (but how can I NOT love the blog of another mama with 7 kids!) One Rich Mother!

How many children do you have, and how old are they? I have 7 children ages 17, 16, 12, 9, 6, 2 and 3 months.

Do you have a partner, or are you a single parent? I am married to the best man (for me!) in the world.

What are your “hot button” parenting issues? Vaccinations, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, and special needs.
Have you made any parenting choices that you didn't think you would make before you were a parent, i.e. cloth diapering a child when you had previously thought it was disgusting?  As a mother that has evolved from the mainstream, my views are constantly growing. I learn so much each day that I now make choices each day that I never thought I'd make before I was a parent. I never thought I'd question medical society as a whole but now I trust very little of what I'm told.
Is there one book or person in particular that’s heavily influenced your parenting choices? One magazine- Mothering and their book Natural Family Living, helped me to start opening my eyes to life as I'd like it. And 20 different mamas who live a life similar to mine, that I can go to for anything, anytime.
If you had to describe each of your children using only one word, what word would you use? One word? Too hard, there's really so many sides to each of my children- I've got to do two. R- Driven & imaginative. T- inquisitive & empathetic. P- Visual & determined. I- Earthy & sensitive. O- Energetic & funny. C- Cunning & charming. J- Serene & blessed.

Is there one parenting decision that you regret more than others and wish you could change? I wish I could've used cloth diapers on all of them, had I known how easy it was and how much damage sposies do to the environment I'd have stuck to it with R.
Is there an area of your parenting you wish you were better at?  Daily routines. I can never remember to have them brush their teeth at night or do homework before bedtime!
Now for the fun questions – is there one particular food or type of food that you could eat every day? Red grapefruits. Oh and asparagus!

Vanilla ice cream or chocolate? Chocolate
 What’s your guilty pleasure?  Facebook.

If you could be part of any television show, which show would it be? The Amazing Race! To travel all over the world in a competition SO appeals to me on all kinds of different levels.

  2. I hopped over from the NP blog party. What a beautiful sounding family you have. I can't organise teeth brushing and homework for ONE child, let alone 7!

  4. Hello from the blog party! I'm also very passionate about vaccines. I'm looking forward to reading some of you posts about it. It is also great to read a mother with older kids so we can learn from your experience!
