Our "back yard"
I haven't participated in almost a month now, and being back feels so right.
The last sentence above "Our gratefulness feeds one another", really is true. Much like any attitude. Positive begets positive and negative negative. I'm truly learning this this last week. When I read others' messages of gratitude it helps me to find the little things in my life I am grateful for. But also when I am surrounded by negative attitudes, it really brings me down, no matter how I am trying to change myself. This is why so many of the blogs I read regularly are from others that look for joy, peace, simplicity and to spread love. These blogs help to remind me of where I am moving to, personally and in my life as a mother, woman, and human. (Yes and wife, but in this moment that is proving to be a bit harder than usual. And I need to concentrate on the aspects I am more in control of right now.)

So that brings me to my first gratitude.
~ Blogs and their writers that aim to bring forward light and love.

~ A New Year, and new things to come this year.

~Holding hope, even against the odds.

~Yoga (starting the practice and watching as my children learn)

~Inspirational messages.

~ P caring for the boys this week, in the morning hours when they wake so early. It's been a nice break not getting up at 5 with them. (Though the mother to P inside is being driven crazy that her sleep schedule is so out of whack that she's still awake at that time.)

~Getting my "chores" done. I can better appreciate my time, house, and family when things are tidy.

~Google searches, finding yarn and beeswax.

~ A list of projects to-do. (But honestly I haven't started on even one! Haha.)

~ For B's willingness to do as she's asked. It's always nice not to fight with a child, when you ask them for help.
~The excitement in the boys when they find a new game.

~ Baby smiles, and "mama".

~J returning to being "easy" to get to bed. (We've had a rough last few weeks with that one.)

~ To be able to talk to C, communicate so easily with him. He can be so reasonable, for a 3.5 year old

White bean and ham bone broth soup- YUM! (and grain free!)
~ Recipes that so easily can come to mind. New foods to try is so wonderful!

~ A bit warmer morning to get out and walk with the boys. They so needed the exercise.

~ My wool sweater. I'm still wearing it almost daily.

~ Finding it easier to resist food temptations. (not perfect but getting better.)

~Being able to remain focused on what I want and know I need to do to better my life. Even when faced with opposition. Though staying optimistic can be hard, at least I still know where I moving to.

Honeysuckle taking over everywhere!

Knotty tree

Edit to add: I'm in need of a favor. I'm finding I'm living in a bit of a negative "place", and am finding it hard to overcome. I need, am requesting, from you out there, positive things, mainly readings, books. Things I can go to to help me find my center. So if you have a go-to, special book or blog or website, please could you share. And also as a side note, though I am a spiritual person, and can find inspiration in many things, I would appreciate things that aren't purely Christian in origin. I am not trying to be offensive but the Bible does not do it for me. I do find some psalms uplifting when broad but I need things from all faiths. So if you're willing to share, please do so in the comments below. Thank you.

  1. Have you read: "Love yourself, live your spirit" by Sonia Choquette? All of her books help center me. :)

  2. I love the picture of the sleeping babe. I feel the same much of the time. I just started reading the Happiness Project. Interesting so far.

  4. So many things to be grateful for, I hope you can find the peace and calm that you are searching for. I can recommend Buddhism for Mothers by Sarah Napthali, the author uses Buddhism practices and offers ways of applying them to motherhood. I am also enjoying Simplicity Parenting by Kim John Payne which I am reading at the moment, I believe he also has a website but I have not looked at it.
